We’ve been ranting and raving about blue nails all year long. It’s only right that we give you a list. Here’s a list of all the coolest blue nails we’ve seen thus far. You’re going to want to bookmark, right-click, or save these for your next nail appointment.
Royal Blue Nails
A touch of royal blue really goes a long way in creating an elegant design. And these royal blue nails are as elegant as they get.
We love these blue nails because they can be done on your natural nails. No acrylics necessary. To copy these royal blue nails, you’ll need a thin nail art brush and blue and clear nail polishes.
First, paint your thumb, index, and pinky fingers with blue polish. For your middle and ring fingers, use blue polish and a thin nail art brush to paint your tips. You want thin French tips, so don’t overdo it.
Last, apply clear polish on all your nails.
For her royal blue nails, @gels.bytia used Glossify’s Naturabuild Nude, Amalfi, and Bluebird. To copy her look, you’ll first need to apply Glossify’s Naturabuild Nude to each of your nails. It’s best to paint three layers. Now it’s time to use your liner brush to create a swoosh of blues.
On each nail, paint a slightly curved line using Glossify’s Bluebird nail polish and allow it to dry before you carefully apply Glossify’s Amalfi color next to the lighter shade of blue.
Finally, to add that beautiful finish you can apply Glossify’s Glossy Top Coat.
These royal blue nails are absolutely stunning. We love it! Check out how you can rock this look too.
For her royal blue nails, @beautybychloemayboyce used Glossify’s Amalfi and Naked. Let’s start with the easiest nail to paint in this design—the pinky. All you have to do is apply the darker shade of blue ( or Amalfi, if you have it), and you’re good to go.
Paint the ring, middle, and index fingers with Glossify’s Naked polish and allow them to dry before you begin with the tip. Take out your liner brush and paint a thin tip using Amalfi or a similar color.
When you paint your thumb, you’ll first apply the Naked polish before you paint the dots. Use a dotting tool to apply a small amount of nail polish to create the polka dots.
And that’s how you create these pretty royal blue nails.
These royal blue nails won’t take up too much of your time at all and they’re super fun. For her royal blue nails, @annagracenails_ used Glossify’s Naturabuild Pink and Bluebird.
Paint each one of your nails with the Naturabuild Pink polish and allow it dry before you apply the squiggles. Get out your liner brush and paint two fine squiggly lines across your nails. Glossify’s Bluebird polish truly compliments the pretty pink base.
Apply a top coat of your choice to add a glossy finish to your royal blue nails.
Electric Blue Nails
Abstract nail art is one of the most popular trends right now. And these electric blue nails are definitely worth trying. For her electric blue nails, she used Glossify’s Naturabuild Nude, Capri and Bluebird.
The first thing you’ll need to do is apply nude polish. To create the abstract shapes, you’ll use Capri or similar electric blue nail polish. Simply paint the general shape you desire and tidy up the edges with a line brush. Frame the shape by delicately applying the stunning Bluebird or similar polish with your liner brush.
You can apply a top coat to finish off your professional-looking nails. It truly is as simple as that to create these electric blue nails!
Blue and Green Nails
We’ve been dying to try out this subtle abstract nail art! @annagracenails_ mixed blue and green colors to create this look. For her blue and green nails, she used Glossify’s Capri, Amalfi, Bluebird, and Minted, as well as, The GelBottle Inc’s Bluefin polish. You will need to get out your liner brush for this look too.
Start by painting each nail a nude color and letting them dry. When you begin designing the abstract shapes on your nail, you should outline the general shape that you want. To create a truly professional look, neaten up the edges with a liner brush. The last step is applying a protective top coat. And that’s all it takes to create these blue and green nails.
Blue and White Nails
These blue and white nails scream fun! We absolutely love this detailed and playful design. Want to copy these blue and white nails? Let us break it down for you.
First, you’ll need to get all your tools ready for this artwork. Set out your dotting tool, line brush, and of course, the nail polishes. For her nails, @gelsbybry used Glossify’s Michelle, Blue Marine, Double Denim and Daisy.
Prep all your nails with nude nail polish. For your thumb and ring finger, you’re going to create Kylie Jenner’s infamous groovy pattern. To start, use your liner brush to paint a rounded French tip on your thumb and ring finger. Now, you can have some fun and paint wavy lines using your liner brush. For your index finger, you’ll also use your liner brush to paint on these fun lines.
The flower on the middle finger is pretty easy to paint. Simply dip your dotting tool in Blue Marine or a similar blue polish and dot the petals. Clean the tool and finish the center of the flower with Double Denim.
On to your last nail—the pinky. Take out that dotting tool again to form white circles for the yin yang. Carefully paint each side of it with a liner brush and let them dry before painting the tiny dot.
You don’t have to follow these blue and white nails to a T. Feel free to create your own unique designs and play around with different patterns.
We love these blue and white nails from @ongleslaval. They give off a real gentle vibe with their milky white base and baby blue shapes. To copy this look, you’ll need a liner brush, milky white, and light blue nail polishes.
Paint all of your nails with a milky white color to act as the base for your look. You can get creative by painting the general shapes with light blue polish. To create a crisp and clean look, take your liner brush to tidy up the edges of the blue shapes.
Apply a top coat to keep your design intact for longer and give it that shiny appearance.
We all love a good classic with a slight twist. These blue-tipped nails are the perfect way to liven up the traditional French manicure. Want to copy the look for yourself?
First, you’ll need to get your hands on The GelBottle Inc.’s Builder in a Bottle Nude (aka BIAB 19). Add three layers of BIAB 19 to all of your nails.
Now, it’s time to get out the baby-blue nail polish or The GelBottle Inc’s Denim and your liner brush. Using a liner brush and blue polish, paint a curved outline on your tip. Then use the nail polish brush to fill in the space. You should be left with rounded and stunning blue-tipped nails.
Light Blue and Dark Blue Nails
If you can’t pick just one blue polish, pick multiple. That’s what @vwnails_ did. Her nails start with light blue and progressively get darker until reaching the deepest shade of dark blue. To copy her light and dark blue nails, you’ll need a wide range of blue polishes, white and nude polishes, as well as a thin nail art brush.
First, apply nude polish. Then use a light blue polish and nail art brush to create a curved shape on your pinky. With a clean nail art brush and white polish, outline the curved blue shape with white. Using a darker shade of blue and the nail art brush, create a wavy shape on your ring finger. Use your nail art brush to outline the shape with white. For your middle finger, use regular blue nail polish and the nail art brush to draw a curved shape. Outline it with white polish. Next, use dark blue nail polish and the nail art brush to draw a curved shape on your index finger. Then, use your darkest shade of blue (or black) on your thumb. Outline the shape with white polish.
Finally, apply top coat to seal the look.
Depending on your mood, you can use an array of different blues for these light blue and dark blue nails. For her light blue and dark blue nails, @heluviee used a combination of white, light baby blue, and a gorgeous darker navy blue.
To create this look you will need a liner brush and thin nail tape or stickers. You’ll begin by applying a nude coat of nail polish to form the base of this look. Then you can paint the white line at an angle across the tip of the nail. If you’re a little stressed about any rough edges or mistakes, then use a thin sticker to guide you.
You will apply the light blue and then the dark blue polish on the opposite side of the white line. You can also use a sticker to avoid any mishaps.
This look really is as easy as that!
Light Blue and White Nails
A simple, subtle baby blue and white tip exude elegance. These light blue and white nails add just that bit of interest without being too showy. Below, we’ll take a look at how you can pull these light blue and white nails.
First, paint your fingernails with a nude nail color that compliments the light blue and white colors. Then, you’ll paint a straight white line at an angle across the edge of the tip. You could even make use of a straight, skinny sticker to guide you and prevent any rough edges.
Wait for the white polish to dry. Then it’s time to paint that light blue line. You can follow the same method used to paint the white line.
That’s how you can rock these light blue and white nails. Pretty easy right?
